Cricket : the curse of Farmers

I attended a workshop on what ails agriculture & farmer suicides. The entire day experts discussed & debated about the root cause of farmers problem ranging from free trade agreements with ASEAN to Agriculture out of WTO , reducing tarrif lines to amber box subsidies.

However, what stayed with me was this :

When Sharad Pawar was asked how serious is the problem with agriculture? the 'honarable' minister replied : "It is so grim that I cannot be the ICC President for the coming year"

I think thats the problem that ails agriculrure today. The person in charge is more concerned with 15 odd men in blue than half a billion people toiling in the fields.

and look what wonders he has done to them : the men in blue surrendered to minnows bangladesh. I wish the politicians did limit themselves to what best they do : Nothing

I don't know about indian ministers, but in Malaysia, usually politicians became vocal when they are not in the circle of power, and they just shut their mouth and take 'no coment' stand when they are in power. Sometimes I just wonder what is wrong with today's politicians...
